Stamford’s Shelter for the Homeless will host its 12th annual Rays of Hope Gala Wednesday, celebrating its commitment to sheltering and improving the lives of the region’s homeless. Over 400 guests are expected to attend the event, a 1950s themed night with dining, dancing, live and silent auctions, and Emmy Award winning investigative journalist Chris Hansen as the emcee.

Event proceeds will directly benefit the Pacific House emergency men's homeless shelter. Located at 597 Pacific Street in Stamford, the shelter operates every day of the year, 24 hours per day, feeding and housing up to 100 or more men per night.

“This extraordinary gala is a great opportunity for the community to get involved while having fun for an important cause,” said Rafael Pagan, Jr., Shelter for the Homeless Executive Director.  “The event promises to provide a memorable and inspirational evening, but also provides essential support needed to end homelessness and improve the quality of life for everyone who lives in our region.”

The gala begins at 5 p.m. and will take place at the Italian Center of Stamford on Newfield Ave. For tickets, sponsorship opportunities, and more information, visit www.shelterforhomeless.org
