Hundreds were out for a grand summer night in downtown Stamford Wednesday evening.
More than 400 guests at UConn Stamford enjoyed hors d'oeuvres and cocktails served by local restaurants, like napa and co. and Hudson Grille. Following the reception, people dined out at restaurants of their choice.
The annual grand summer night event is hosted by the Friends of Stamford Downtown -- giving people the chance to experience the downtown's cuisine.
The group is made up of Stamford women dedicated to making downtown a destination for the arts. They say proceeds from the event will help defray the costs of downtown art exhibits.
