Mayor David Martin is continuing city official appointments.  Thursday, the mayor announced Ted Jankowski will stay on as the city’s director of public safety and Jon Fonteneau will remain the city’s police chief. Martin also appointed retired Assistant Fire Chief Peter Brown as the City’s new Fire Chief.

Chief Brown has more than 30 years of experience as a fire officer and was Stamford’s assistant fire chief for over a decade. He will take over for Jankowski, who has been serving as the Interim Fire Chief since August.

The public safety officials say they look forward to serving. They say the first goal on the agenda is to untie career and volunteer firefighters.
