David Martin Publicly Sworn In

City officials, supporters gather at Government Center

Stamford's new mayor David Martin, was sworn in by his father Gene Martin, a retired Jackson County, Missouri circuit judge, Monday.  The Democrat was applauded by city officials and supporters, who he thanked, at a public ceremony.  

 

Martin was officially sworn in as Stamford's 31st mayor at midnight Sunday.  He replaces Republican Michael Pavia, who served one term. 

 

Martin won the city's top job over Republican opponent Michael Fedele by more than 500 votes.
