A group of students from Turn of River Middle School honored local veterans in a unique way this week.

As part of their oral history project, students in the eighth grade social studies classes were required to interview a veteran. The project culminated with a breakfast Thursday where the veterans shared their history and stories with the students. After breakfast, the students and veterans enjoyed a presentation on Stamford monuments and memorials and the heroes for which they were created.
