In honor of Memorial Day approaching, The Stamford Professional Fire Fighters Association created a Public Service Announcement saluting veterans in Fairfield County and across the country. The 30-second PSA shows members of the United States Military paying tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

“Stamford Fire Fighters are honored to salute and recognize the brave men and women who have risked their lives serving our nation’s military,” said SPFFA President Brendan Keatley. “Over the coming weeks, we encourage Connecticut residents to make an extraordinary effort to connect with a veteran and say ‘thank you’ with sincere gratitude.”

On Sunday, May 24, the City of Stamford will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade, kicking off at the corner of Summer and Hoyt Streets at Noon. This year, the Stamford Fire Department Honor Guard, comprised of seven Firefighters, will lead the march. The parade will end with a ceremony at Veterans Park.

The full PSA can be viewed on the SPFFA’s Facebook Page at, and a downloadable high resolution version can be seen at:
