Two years ago, Charter Oak Communities broke ground on its newest residential community project, Greenfield. A ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday marked the celebration of the project’s completion, a 45-unit housing complex on Merrill Ave in Stamford.

Dedicated to providing attractive, safe and affordable housing in the city, Greenfield is the third phase of Charter Oak’s Vidal Court revitalization project, preceded by the communities of Palmer Square and Westwood. Vincent Tufo, Executive Director and CEO of Charter Oak Communities, says there are two more phases of the project left to complete the replacement of Vidal Court, a low-income apartment complex.

A mixed income housing complex, more than 50% of the Greenfield units are available to low or moderate income households. 27 of the 45 units will be rented below market value, while the remaining 18 will be rented at market rate.
