The Norwalk Parking Authority will open facilities for overnight parkers during street sweeping from now until November.

As part of the recent street sweeping initiative, begun this month by Mayor Harry Rilling, the parking authority says it will help to keep streets clear for sweeping.

People will be able to park their vehicles for free in the Yankee Doodle Garage in the Wall Street area and in the Webster lot in South Norwalk from from Sunday night at 10:00 p.m. until Monday at 8:00 a.m. After that time drivers are expected to move their vehicle or pay for parking.

Sweeping areas include Wall, Main, River, and Isaac streets as well as Burnell Boulevard, Belden Avenue, Washington, Water, Ann, Marshall and North and South Main streets.
