A signature event every summer, Stamford Downtown is once again hosting an outdoor sculpture exhibit as part of its Art in Public Places initiative. Last year, colorful wooden benches served a duel purpose, functioning as both art and seating. This year, people will be walking amongst the dinos for the Dinosaurs Rule! exhibit.

The fiberglass dinosaurs were delivered to 84 West Park Place Monday morning, where they will be painted by a selected group of artists. Each of the 40 dinosaurs will be sponsored by a different business in the City, each with its own unique design.

At the end of the summer, the dinosaurs will be auctioned off, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Stamford Police Foundation and Stamford EMS. Last year’s proceeds from the wooden benches went to the Palace Theatre and Curtain Call. The exhibit is set to open June 10; a fun way to raise money, liven up the downtown with some new scenery, and welcome warmer weather.
