Veterans Kick off Toys for Tots

Dozens of veterans and Stamford Mayor David Martin took to the Government Center today, officially proclaiming December as Toys for Tots Month.

 Toys for Tots started back in 1947 with the mission provide toys to children who others would have no Christmas at all. Years later, that same tradition continues with Stamford veterans serving more than a hundred families a year.

 This year the holiday season is short with just 26 days between black Friday and Christmas.  Veterans today urged us to give sooner rather than later.

The veterans are accepting clothes as well.  A donation box is currently set up at the Stamford Government Center or you can make a donation online at:
