It’s a big day for  the Stamford/Norwalk Junior League, who putting on one of its biggest fundraisers of the year: The annual "Winter Fair".

“It’s a fun community event and it kicks of the holiday season," said one member, Susan Bridges.

They say they have the real santa, and boy was he busy.  Mister Clause sat down with dozens of children, as families got a head start on a holiday photo.

Others ventured  downstairs, where nearly 50 vendors awaited.

All proceeds are benefitting the organization’s signature project : School readiness and childhood literacy.  The women hope to rake in around 15 thousand dollars.

“So everything you’re seeing here – goes to support that venture," said Bridges.

The Junior League also hosts a cocktail fundraiser in the spring.
