Donate Winter Coats to Help Those in Need

Backyard Humanitarian running annual coat drive

If you're looking to clean out your closet and help someone in need, starting today you can drop off coats of all sizes at various locations in the city.  The volunteer-based group, Backyard Humanitarian of Stamford, is hosting its fifth annual winter coat drive. 

Sizes needed range from infants to adults 4XL for babies, girls, boys, women and men.  

The organization has teamed up with Mario's Professional Cleaners and is asking the community to donate new or gently used coats now through November 15.

Drop off locations include:

Mario's Professional Dry Cleaners, 1001 Hope St., Stamford

High Ridge Printing and Copy Center, 1009 High Ridge Rd., Stamford

Italian Center of Stamford, 1620 Newfield Ave., Stamford

Palmer's Market, 264 Heights Rd., Darien

Splash Car Wash, 649 Hope St., Stamford
