It’s national drive electric week, and many in Stamford came out to see the goods last night at Sustainable America’s “Cocktails and Cars event".

Sustainable America is holding the event as part of its mission to reduce American’s dependence on oil by 50 percent.

But these cars aren’t just environmentally friendly, many report they’re more fun to drive and less expensive than their gasoline counterparts.

National Drive Electric Week started back in 2011 as just one day and since then it’s taken over more and more cities with plug in enthusiasts sharing the many advantages of driving elecric.  The nationwide celebration will continue until Sunday.
