Some students in Stamford are not just on summer vacation.  These 75 high school students have been working through the Mayor's Youth Employment Program.

In its 4th year, the program gives juniors and seniors in high school the opportunity to apply for paid summer internships.  It gives them a chance to explore a field they're interested in, even before they go to college.

Carl Jiang is working with the Board of Education's finance department.

Erin Manning was involved with the program as a high school student.  She's since graduated, but returned this year to help out.

The program's employed over 230 students since its inception, offering experience in the corporate, private and nonprofit sector.
