Cancer is a debilitating disease, both physically and mentally. Arthur Murray Dance Studio wants to help those affected by the disease, so they teamed up with Greenwich Hospital to help patients and survivors live happier and healthier lives with the Dance For Your Health class.

"It was really created to be able to give Greenwich Hospital cancer patients and survivors a chance to get out and have fun, laugh, exercise, and really find themselves again," said Studio Director Kelly Butler.

At first, the class may seem daunting, but for Victoria Markova, it is the best kind of exercise.

"During it, I was very weak and had a hard time recovering. It was a very good way for me to exercise and the same time have fun. I like dancing because it's not just exercise. It's not like just getting on a treadmill and do a routine workout. You express yourself," said Markova, a cancer survivor.

Dancing not only keeps bodies healthy. It allows cancer patients and survivors to take their minds off the disease and have a little fun.

"It's good for everyone. I think anytime people are dancing, it takes your mind off of everything. You're concentrating on your steps, so it's a great distraction., and it's hard not to have fun," said Butler.

The free Dance For Your Health Class meets every Wednesday at 7 pm.
