Needs Clearing House is doing just that, bringing businesses and community organizations together to help those who need it most.

"It's a fulfillment. I couldn't ask for a better dream to know that there is a need out there for these sheets and then to have a company as Starwood and the W Hotel call us and say that we actually have sheets for you after asking and hoping for four months, to all of a sudden have it happen is just incredible," said Phil Brous, Executive Director of Needs Clearing House.

Founded just a year ago by State Representative Fred Camillo and Joe Kaliko, Needs Clearing House has grown from helping individuals to addressing a larger need.

"About a year ago I learned that at Neighbor to Neighbor, sheets flew off the shelves and they asked if there was a way to get linens - towels, sheets etc. I happened to be driving past the Stamford Marriott and it occurred to me that perhaps they had some excess sheets or sheets that they were recycling for other purposes," said co-founder Joe Kaliko.

Last week, thousands of sets of bed sheets were delivered to the Westy's Self Storage in Stamford and Norwalk to then be donated to various organizations in Fairfield County. But Kaliko and Brous says there is always a need for more.

"I think many people would love to help when a need is identified. People by their nature I have learned in the last year are incredibly generous, if they only knew that a particular need existed," added Kaliko.

"We have realized the great need for sheets, diaper, basic items that you wouldn't normally except to be needed. There is a huge need and the most shocking is the state agenices that are in need. State agencies desperately need help because the funding is not there from the government. Needs Clearing House is here to try to help and fill that gap," said Brous.
