Friends and family of The New Breed gathered at The Palace Theater in Stamford to watch the band of four talented young artists performed at the Showcase 61 event.
"I'm just here to have a good time, play two sets with my band, and make it a great night," said Dylan Niederauer, the band's bass guitarist.
The band has been together for just over 6 months. It started with lead singer and Greenwich resident Nicky Winegardner writing songs.
"Brandon and Dylan, Dylan is Brandon's brother, came over one day and we played for like four hours. We clicked so fast and we became friends automatically. We got Henry because one of our family friends saw Henry in the Darien talent show and he was one of the youngest winners ever," said Winegardner.
Brandon Niederauer, Dylan Niederauer, and Henry Thomas make up the rest of the band.
"I just saw the videos of Brandon, Nicky, and Dylan, and I thought 'these cats are good.' They have some pretty good chops and I wanted to give them a shot. In the first 10 minutes playing with them, I was like okay I found my band," said Thomas, the band's drummer.
The New Breed performed 10 songs for the energetic audience. Some of their personal favorites include,
"Guitarmagedon," said Brandon.
"Either Guitarmagedon or I Want You," said Thomas.
"Walking on Air," said Winegardner.
