Scofieldtown Rd. Recycling Center Closing

Services suspending due to DEEP project at landfill

Stamford, CT | Added on March 26, 2014 At 12:55 PM

The recycling center at Scofieldtown Road in Stamford is closing.

Stamford's recycling division announced services at the recycling center will be suspended beginning March 31 because of capping work required by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection at the landfill.  The landfill is at the same location as the recycling center.

The division also announced all equipment at the location will be removed due to tree work beginning April 1.  All services will be suspended for the remainder of the year.  The city will provide updates as the capping project proceeds.

Residents are encouraged to use the Katrina Mygatt Recycling Center during this time, which will have extended Saturday hours while the Scofieldtown Road facility is closed. The paper shredder will be relocated to this recycling center at 130 Magee Ave.  The center is open 6 days a week, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and on Saturdays with extended hours (beginning April 5) from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
