There were trick-hoops and lots of laughs on the basketball court Sunday afternoon, as the Norwalk Foxy Trotters took on the Harlem Wizards all for the kids.

"Today is just an effort to come out and have fun and raise some money for one of our elementary schools. The funds will go to supporting so many needs that we have in our school," said Superintendent of Norwalk Public Schools Dr. Manuel Rivera.

Presented by the Fox Run Elementary School PTO, teachers, administrators and elected officials from Norwalk took on the Harlem Wizards to benefit Fox Run Elementary School.

Jesse Glaude, a teacher at Ponus Ridge Middle School took part in the game. Glaude said, "Just being involved. It benefits the kids. Everything that we are doing today benefits the kids."

Joseph Giandurco a teacher at Ponus Ridge Middle School whose mother taught at Fox Run Elementary School said participating in the game was a great way to give back. "Anything we can improve at the elementary school level will eventually pay off at the middle school level and then eventually at in the high school programs. It's really a great thing when you see it mirrored with what [Superintendent] Manuel Rivera has talked about and how he wants to build up the elementary schools to make everything build on a successful course for all three levels.

The Wizards say doing events that give back to the community & make kids smile is what their organization is all about.
Brookside Elementary School student Randy said, "They are funny and I like the dunks that they do."

Harlem Wizard #1 "King" Arthur James said, "It's all about giving back. You can kill two birds with one stone - have great entertainment and also raise money for various causes."

Bridgeport native Dexton "Air Jamaica" Williamson said doing an event in Connecticut was extra special for him. "Coming out to the different communites, it's very fufilling for all the guys in the organization. They take pride in making sure the kids have a smile on their faces and doing anything they can to make sure every single person in the stands are having a great time with the Wizards."

Final Score - Harlem Wizards 73, Foxy Trotters 69
