Ellie is an affectionate two-year-old female dog in need of a forever home. Laurie Hollywood, director of Stamford Animal Care & Control, says Ellie has been at the shelter since 2012. Ellie weighs 65 pounds. Hollywood says Ellie may be mixed with Staffordshire Terrier and Bull Terrier.

Because of her allergies to poultry, duck, sweet potatoes, and white potatoes, Ellie is on a venison diet. Hollywood says Ellie has a liver problem called microvascular dysplasia and needs to be on medication for the rest of her life.

Ellie bonds very well to new people and likes kids. Hollywood says Ellie may have some separation anxiety. Ellie has basic training and knows how to sit and lie down. Hollywood says Ellie has plenty of energy and shows no signs of aggression.

For Ellie and pets like her, visit Stamford Animal Care and Control at 201 Magee Avenue or call 203-977-4437.
