The Federal Railroad Administration is requiring an inside look of trains.  The FRA is planning to install inward and outward facing video cameras on all locomotives.

The plan was announced by Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal and New York Senator Charles Schumer, who pushed for the cameras.  The effort came in the wake of the December Metro North crash in the Bronx, killing 4 people.  The plan may be in place later this year.

Officials say the cameras would be used to monitor conductors and tracks, making sure no one's falling asleep or texting.  Also making sure there's no broken rails or other issues.
