Eastern Land Management in Stamford is just one of hundreds of companies to benefit from a statewide program aimed at helping small businesses expand. The family-owned snow removal and landscaping business was awarded over $190,00 through the program.

On Wednesday, State Senator Carlo Leone stopped in Stamford to see how ELM has thrived. ELM’s president, Bruce More, says he was able to hire five new employees, buy new equipment, and make much needed improvements to the property with money to spare.

Senator Leone says it’s important to help the small business community, which employs over 60 percent of the state’s workforce. Over 800 companies have participated in the program to date, creating or retaining 11,000 jobs statewide.

Connecticut businesses with fewer than 100 employees are eligible to apply for the program.  Visit the link provided to find out more.
