The City of Stamford Patriotic and Special Events Committee will host the annual Veterans Day Parade, Sunday, November 13. Forty marching units and bands will be participating.

This year the parade will be held in remembrance of the Stamford residents who were lost on September 11, 2001. Members of their families will be honored as special guests at the parade.

The Patriotic and Special Events Commission has also created a special float to remember the events of 9-11.

Step-off is at 12 from the corner of Hoyt and Summer Street. The parade will proceed south on Summer Street to Main Street and conclude at St. John the Evangelist Church.

Immediately following the conclusion of the parade, the City will hold a memorial ceremony, including a wreath laying, at Veterans Park where attendees will remember the servicemen and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while in service to their country.
