After 12 years serving the City of Norwalk, Hal Alvord submitted his resignation as the Director of the Department of Pubic Works this past Thursday.

Alvord was hired as the City's DPW Director in 2003 and has served under Former Mayor Richard Moccia and current Mayor Harry Rilling.

Mayor Rilling has not made any comments regarding Alvord's decision but said he will announce his plans to fill the position in the near future and a press release will be sent out.

Alvord's last day at the Director of the Department of Public Works goes into effect May 31, 2015. We have reached out to Alvord about his decision and plans for the future but have been unable to reach him. We will keep you updated as this story develops.
