Wednesday was Autism Acceptance Day at Stamford’s Government Center and the celebration left standing room only in the lobby. The annual event, held by Stamford Education 4 Autism, recognized community leaders, educators, and students working to better the lives of those on the spectrum.

The ceremony included presentations from Stamford students, highlighting the importance and success of the organization’s buddy program, Stamford Education 4 Autism Buddies.

Robin Portanova of S4E, says the organization also hopes to expand opportunities for young adults on the spectrum as well. For more information about Stamford Education 4 Autism and upcoming events for Autism Awareness Month, visit stamfordeducation4autism.org.
