Stamford Warming Centers Open

Cold temperatures and wind chills predicted

Colder than normal temperatures and wind chills are projected for Connecticut for the coming week.  Governor Dannel P. Malloy has activated the State’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol in anticipation of temperatures in the teens and single digits, until Sunday, February 8th.

The following warming centers are open for the times and locations listed:
·         Domus/Chester Addison Community Center, 245 Selleck Street, Stamford, Mon-Fri (9am – 9pm),Sat(10am – 9pm), Sun(2pm – 9pm)
·         Stamford Family YMCA, 10 Bell Street, Stamford, Mon-Fri (9am – 6pm)
·         Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Grove Street, Stamford, Mon–Thurs (6pm–9pm), Sat (5pm – 9pm), Sun (3pm – 9pm)
·         Glenbrook Community Center, 35 Crescent Street, Stamford, Mon-Fri (8am – 10pm)
·         Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., 1st floor lobby, Stamford, Mon-Fri (8am – 8pm)
·         Jewish Community Center, 1035 Newfield Ave., Stamford, Mon–Thurs (5:30am – 10pm), Fri (5:30am – 6pm), Sat (7:30am – 9pm)
·         Central Fire Headquarters, 629 Main Street, Stamford (8am – 6pm)
·         South End Fire Station, 215 Washington Blvd, Stamford (8am – 6pm)
·         West Side Fire Station, 80 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford (8am – 6pm)
·         East Side/Shippan Fire Station, 364 Shippan Avenue, Stamford (8am – 6pm)
·         Woodside Fire Station, 1600 Washington Blvd, Stamford (8am – 6pm)
·         Belltown Fire Station, 8 Dorlen Road, Stamford (8am – 6pm)
·         Long Ridge Fire Station, 366 Long Ridge Rd., Stamford (8am – 6pm)
·         Springdale Fire Station, 987 Hope St., Stamford (8am – 6pm)
·         Turn of River Fire Station, 268 Turn of River Road, Stamford (8am – 6pm)
Inspirica, a Stamford-based provider of services to the homeless, will provide an overnight warming center from 8pm to 8am the next morning at 8 Woodland Place, Stamford, tonight and those nights that Governor Malloy declares Cold Weather Protocols.
