For newly appointed executive director Jane Von Trapp, Stamford’s Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens was a perfect fit. Von Trapp brings more than 20 years of horticulture experience to the Arboretum. After graduating with a degree in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Vermont, Von Trapp owned a landscaping and nursery business. She is also the author of several landscaping books. But accepting the position was about more than just fitting the criteria. Von Trapp says her passion for the job is what really drew her to the Bartlett Arboretum.
Von Trapp says she hopes to spread the word about what the Arboretum has to offer, something she sets out to do in her new role. The new director says she also plans to revive and even bring some new programs to the Arboretum, drawing more people to enjoy the 93 acre preserve.
The Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens is open for visiting 7 days a week. For more information visit http://bartlettarboretum.org
