The Stamford Stars are headed to the World Series. The 12 and under softball team swept the Babe Ruth Regional Tournament in New Hampshire last weekend, returning to Connecticut as the New England Champions.

The girls put on quite a performance, winning all 3 of 3 pool play games before advancing to the double elimination round as the number one seed in their bracket. The Stars took the win in the Championship game against Litchfield, New Hampshire, but not without fighting for it. The girls were down by one run in the fifth inning, but pulled out five runs at the bottom of the fifth, winning 9-5.

The Stars will be one of 20 teams competing in the World Series next week in Florida. The tournament begins Wednesday, August 6th. Until then, the girls will be practicing and fundraising for the trip. To make a donation, visit
