GHS Congratulates Essay Winners

Greenwich students win at local, state, and national levels

Greenwich, CT | Added on June 12, 2014 At 12:02 PM

Nine Greenwich High School students were recognized for their essay writing skills. The students participated in essay contests at a local, state, and national level. The essays were written as part of the We The People: The Citizen and the Constitution, Honors Civics, and AP Government and Comparative Politics courses at GHS.

Aaron Hull, a social studies teacher at GHS, believes the essay contests are great opportunities for students to engage in further learning.

"The advantages of engaging, through research and writing, with members of the community locally and nationally are profound. I am incredibly proud of our students who take on these challenges to hone their analytical abilities and improve their writing and communication skills,” said Hull.

First place winners include Annika Bjerke, Carmen Collins, Uma Ramesh, Spencer Matonis, and Colleen Bennett.
