Mayor David Martin made his final senior level appointment to the City’s administration since taking office in December. The mayor announced Thursday that Thomas Madden will serve as the City’s Director of Economic Development starting this month.
“He comes to Stamford with over 17 years of experience in the public and private sectors,” says Martin. “He is currently the Commissioner of the Department of Community Development and Conservation for the town of Greenburgh, New York.”
“Stamford is a city that is growing, it is on the move, and it’s a regional leader and I want to make sure that we keep going that way as a regional leader,” Madden says.
In his previous role as commissioner, Madden oversaw the development of over 600,000 square feet of commercial projects in Greenburgh. He says he’s excited to get started in the “City That Works”
“Stamford is a world class city,” says Madden. “You have incredible companies here, you have some incredible residents, you have really a lot of new life coming in.”
Madden will replace former Economic Director Laure Aubuchon. Former Land Use Bureau Chief Robin Stein, who had been serving as Interim Director, will now be a special assistant to the mayor for economic development.
