Eighty students will dance across the Palace Theatre stage Friday to perform the classical ballet, Coppelia.
“Coppelia is one of the most famous comic ballets. It’s really a wonderful story that involves two young people in love,” says Marti Etter, executive director of The Ballet School of Stamford.
“It’s a very charming ballet. It’s very suitable for children both to dance in and to watch,” says Michael Vernon, artistic director at The Ballet School of Stamford.
The ballet students will put on two shows Friday, a free performance in the morning for Stamford Public School Students and a public performance at the Palace Theatre at 7 p.m. Etter says the school hopes to raise money for its scholarship program through the event.
