Spectrolites Win Championship

Greenwich based cheerleading team takes division

Twenty athletes are bringing home new championship diamond rings to Greenwich. The Spectrolites cheerleading team won first place in the regional U.S. Finals Championship in the Junior Prep 1 Division. The team of 9-13 year olds competed against thousands of athletes from states all across the northeast on May 3 in Providence , RI. 

The team is coached by Anne Aguiar-Asta, Kelcie Wehmnoff, and Amanda Tuzzolino from Spirit Zone Too located in Greenwich. The Spectrolites are one of four teams from Spirit Zone Too to compete in the regional championship. As champions, they also receive medals, a banner, and one-of-a-kind jackets.
