Chocolate, vanilla and lots of pink. Sweet treats supporting one race for a cure.
Sky Mercede and his wife Frances own Forever Sweet Bakery on New Canaan Avenue. "We're local business owners here and we enjoy doing it and supporting the cause."
They are called the Pink Cloud cupcake, and proceeds from their sale at Forever Sweet Bakery in Norwalk will benefit the Susan G. Komen Fairfield County Race for the Cure.
"It's important to us - both my wife and myself. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 1974, so it's almost 40 year ago. Unfortunately we lost her at a young age. My mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor so it really hits home for us," said Mercede.
Since becoming involved with the event two weeks ago, the bakery has sold a over 3 dozen of the pink treats.
You can pick up your Pink Cloud cupcake at Forever Sweet Bakery until race day, Saturday, May 10th. For more information about the Komen Race for the Cure, visit www.komect.org.
