The Planning Board has scheduled its final community workshop in the development of the Master Plan, for Tuesday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Stamford Government Center. The Master Plan is a key policy and planning document detailing the course of planning and development in Stamford over the next ten years.

The project is being carried out by the City of Stamford Planning Department in conjunction with the consultant team of BFJ Planning, Perkins Eastman, Urbanomics, and Stantec.

At the workshop, consultant BFJ Planning will present preliminary recommendations contained within several draft chapters of the Master Plan, which are available for public review at http://stamfordmasterplan.org/. The draft chapters include:

The upcoming workshop will differ from the last ones in that there will be no small group discussions. Instead, after their presentation, representatives of the consultant team will be available in an ‘open house’ format for informal discussion about their draft recommendations at separate tables for each major topic.

A draft Master Plan is expected to be posted by mid-May, with a formal public hearing tentatively scheduled for June 17. Questions should be directed to the City’s Land Use Bureau at 203-977-4076. Tuesday’s workshop will be held in the 4th floor cafeteria of Government Center.
