Runners in all shades of green laced up their sneakers for the 2nd Annual Shamrock Stroll in Stamford Sunday morning.
Ted Ferrarone, COO of Harbor Point said, "It's a 5k walk/run around Harbor Point and it's really to get people out and to have fun on a nice day."
Stamford's Department of Health and Social Services teamed up with Pacific Swim Bike Run and Harbor Point to host the event, in an effort to promote healthier lifestyle choices.
"You have to breathe the air you have to be healthy. It's a good chance for the family to get together and come out to do it as a group exercise," said Julie Gabay of Pacific Swim Bike Run.
Experienced and first time runners say the festive event is a great way to start getting fit for the spring.
"I live right behind the start line and I'm going to be running a lot of races this year so I thought it was a good way to kick the season off," said Stamford resident Simon Tuck.
"I'm into fitness. I teach at LA Fitness but I don't really run, so I wanted to challenge myself and throw myself into it!" said Stamford resident Angela Galicia.
