Stamford resident Mike Norris is sharing his passion for traveling and biking with moments captured through his lens.
"I like to see how people ride in just their day to day lives," said Mike Norris, a bike enthusiast who also runs DIYBIKING.com.
His bike art is displayed at Lorca Cafe downtown Stamford this month. Norris says he's traveled to more than half a dozen countries, and finds biking is a universal method of transportation.
"Whether it's the Dominican Republic or the UK or India, that the bicycle is a constant thing that's always there. It looks a little bit different depending where you go, but it's also the same," said Norris.
Lorca owner Leyla Dam says she aims to support local artists at her cafe.
"Coming from an artistic background myself, I feel like it's a good way to reach out to the community and kind of get artists who wouldn't otherwise show their work to have a place to show their work," said Dam.
With warmer weather on the way, the local bike activist also hopes to spread a message -- to share the road.
"Look for the shape of cyclists whether you're on the road here or in some far corner of the earth. Just keep a lookout because cyclists are going to be everywhere."
Dam says there will be a new art on display at the start of each month through July, and is always looking for new artists.
Lorca is located at 125 Bedford St., Stamford. Visit http://www.lorcastamford.com/ for more information about Lorca and art show opportunities.
