Chelsea Piers Launches Advanced Hockey Academy

New program to begin this summer

The winter Olympics may be over, but Chelsea Piers CT is launching a new hockey program led by professionals including a U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist.  The program, Top Shelf Hockey Academy, will take place this summer. 

"Top Shelf is geared towards advanced, pee-wee hockey players.  The focus here is to run a combination of half day camps and full day camps in order to provide just an elite, unparalleled hockey training experience for those players during the summer time," said Ryan Equale, assistant executive director of Chelsea Piers CT.  

Groups will be divided by age and skill level.  

"It's for the most part a half day camp.  Kids will show up at eight, they'll leave at 12:30 and it's pretty much hockey, hockey, hockey," said Equale.  "Whether it's on the ice, off the ice, in the video lab and really they're coming in for very skill specific training within that sport."
