Access Health CT is sponsoring enrollment fairs around the state, making it easier for people to sign up for health care coverage. Representatives made their second stop of the week in Stamford Wednesday night.
“Access Health CT is Connecticut’s official health insurance marketplace created under the Affordable Care Act and today here at the Tully Health Center here in Stamford we are having an enrollment fair where individuals can come, learn more about Access Health CT, and if they’re interested in enrolling in health care coverage, we help them through that process,” says Lee Goodall, a community outreach leader for Access Health CT.
“I think it’s a wonderful thing, I think it’s long overdue, and I’m glad that they opened it up to everybody and not a select few, so I think it’s a great great thing,” says Michelina Fiori, who was enrolling her daughter Wednesday.
“I saw the sign outside and I been out of a job a month and knew I had to sign up but was hesitant to go on the computer,” says Angela Cartwright, who attended Wednesday night’s fair.
Goodall says over 100 people attend enrollment fairs in the area. He says this is the 6th enrollment fair in Stamford, with more to follow.
“…we ensure that we understand their particular situation that’s going to be best for them and we get them to an insurance broker or a certified in-person assister to walk them through the application process,” says Goodall.
