When Tim Curtin stepped through the door, he thought he was walking in to interview someone.
Instead, Curtin was surprised by a room full of people, announcing that he's Stamford's Citizen of the Year.
Curtin has served in a series of city government leadership positions over the past five decades. He also served on Governor Dannel Malloy's transition team when he became Stamford mayor.
In 2000, Curtin was appointed director of operations. Then, he took the position of an unsalaried assistant to the Mayor in 2007. Today, he continues to supervise special projects.
Curtin will be honored with two citizen of the year events, including the 69th annual Stamford Citizen of the Year dinner.
