Norwalk Holiday Garbage & Recycling Collection


No Collection Christmas Day or New Year's Day

According to an announcment from the City of Norwalk, there will be no collection of municipal garbage or recycling on Christmas Day – Wednesday December 25, 2013 or on New Year’s Day – Wednesday January 1, 2014.  If your normal pick up day is Wednesday, your garbage and recycling will be collected on Thursday December 26, 2013 and Thursday January 2, 2014 respectively.  Additionally during these two weeks, for those whose normal pick up is Thursday, garbage and recycling will be collected on Friday; and for those whose normal pickup is on Friday, garbage and recycling will be collected on Saturday.  Normal collection schedules will resume the week of January 6, 2014.

All recyclables must be placed inside the wheeled single-stream recycling carts.  Boxes must be collapsed or cut up and placed inside the cart.  Loose boxes will not be collected curbside, although boxes may be brought to the transfer station.
