Nearly 20 boats lit up Stamford Harbor Saturday night for the city's eight annual an "on-water" parade of lights.
Boats glittered in holiday lights as they cruised past the east branch of Stamford Harbor and unto the west branch for a post-parade celebration at The Crab Shell, where each boat awaited their scores. Awards were given to the "Best Overall" and "Most Outrageous".
"The boat we have here is a 34 foot sea-ray, we decorated it for the lighting of the parade this year," said Thaqi. "We had a great turnout at Crabshell, hopefully we'll take it this year."
The parade benefits the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Charity, Toys for Tots, and the Young Mariners Foundation, a Stamford non-profit dedicated to school and summer programs.
"It was fun having friends beside us, lighting it up, decorating it, it was a great bonding experience," said Thaqi. "More or less for the children who donated toys here tonight."
