David Martin was sworn in as the 31rst Mayor of Stamford shortly after midnight on Sunday, December 1. Governor Dannel Malloy administered the oath of office during a private ceremony at David Martin’s home in North Stamford.
A second ceremony will be held for the public on Monday, December 2 at 3 p.m. in the lobby of the Stamford Government Center. The oath of office will be administered by Gene Martin, David Martin’s father and a retired Jackson County, Missouri circuit judge. The new mayor will give brief remarks and swear-in newly elected officials on the Board of Representatives, Board of Finance, and Board of Education.
The Martin Transition Team also announced the launch of a new website Sunday, which will keep residents informed about the new administration throughout the beginning of Martin’s term. The website includes information about Martin, his transition team, recent news coverage, and contact information. It also allows residents to share their ideas and submit resumes.
