These two guys are Calvin and Gracie. They both came from the same household. Unfortunately their owner passed away and they were brought to animal control, where we obtained them. They're considered senior dogs. One is 6 and one is 8. The type of dogs that they are is a Papillion mix and a Pekinese mix.
They're very, very sweet dogs. They're very very bonded so if one is left alone, the other gets very nervous. They're great little dogs, they're very low maintenance. They're very affectionate and obviously we would prefer to get them adopted out together because they are extremely bonded, but they would make a great addition to a household because they're smaller dogs, they can live a very long life even thought they're considered seniors and they're very very sweet. Since they're just so loving and need so much attention they would do well with a quiet type of environment as opposed to a lot of activity.
A small dog for obvious reasons takes up much less space. Some people also have smaller living quarters so if they're in an apartment or a small condo, obviously that's not going to lend well to a very large dog. It's also convenient for people to transport them where they go.
They take them with them wherever they go, to the store to the car, vacations, things of that nature. Some people just like smaller dogs. You're welcome to come to Paws and come visit them particularly on the weekends, we have open hours from adoption from 12pm to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
