Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now (NEON) will bring families together for a day of food, fun and games for Family Day on Saturday, October 19th from 1 to 5 p.m. at Norwalk’s Nathaniel Ely School Gym.
NEON provides economically disadvantaged residents of greater Norwalk and Stamford with community, social, economic development and emergency assistance services to reduce poverty.
Families that have directly benefited from NEON services will hold the event to express their gratitude for NEON’S programs within the community. Parents will be organizing a fundraising campaign and volunteer activities.
“We support NEON because the agency has supported us. NEON has been providing excellent, child care and development programs to our families for many years. Saturday, families will join together to show our support for NEON and the need for funding to make sure these programs are available in the future. Our children need NEON,” said Laila Bravo, mother and NEON receptionist.
State and local officials are also scheduled to attend the event at 2 p.m.
Nathaniel Ely School is located at 11 Ingalls Avenue in Norwalk. For more information visit www.neoncaa.org
