On Saturday, October 19, over 200 climbers will run up Trump Parc’s 588 stairs to raise money for the fight against lung disease. The American Lung Association hosts the event each year. All proceeds will fund lung disease research, advocacy, and education.
“The American Lung Association is proud to be celebrating its fifth anniversary at Trump Parc Stamford,” said Jeff Seyler, President & CEO of the American Lung Association of the Northeast. “Like each year before, we are looking forward to an exciting and successful event that will not only help us raise awareness about lung disease, but help us raise the funds we need to continue the research, education and advocacy work we are doing every day to help, support and offer hope to those who struggle with lung disease. Without the commitment and hard work of our climbers and volunteers, we simply wouldn’t be able to do nearly as much as we are doing to improve lung health and prevent lung disease here in Connecticut and across the Northeast.”
Registration for the climb begins at 8 a.m. at SBC Restaurant and Brewery in Stamford. Any participants interested in registering on event day will be required to bring a $50 registration fee along with a $100 fundraising minimum. To date, the event has raised $31,000 of its $68,000 fundraising goal.
The first climber will take off at 9 a.m., with a firefighter challenge kicking off at 11:30 a.m. Climbers, volunteers, friends and family are invited back to SBC for an after party and awards ceremony.
