On Sunday, October 6, 2013, 30Every30 will host its launch event at the Hyatt Regency in Old Greenwich. 30Every30 is a youth volunteer program in Greenwich. The organization is not focused on donating money, rather it is focused on creating opportunities for youth to donate their time. The events feature volunteer opportunities with Military Men and Women from Greenwich, Hospice Care, Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Center, Greenwich Public Schools, Cancer Support and more.
The featured non-profit for this Sunday's launch event is Project Sunshine, which provides free educational, recreational, and social programs to children and families living with medical challenges. Participants will be making 'SunnyGram' greeting cards using crayons, markers and stickers to bring cheer to children and families who needs some sunshine in their lives. First Selectmen Peter Tesei, who will be participating Sunday, said "The vision Mick has with the creation of 30Every30 is directly aligned with our focus on the youth of Greenwich. 30Every30 provides parents with events that are tailor-made and age appropriate to teach our children the importance of donating their time and being a part of their community. I hope to see you at the launch October 6th event."
Every Youth Volunteer will receive a personalized certificate of completion before departing the event.
Everyone is welcome, especially youth under 18 who are ready to donate 30 minutes of their time and have fun supporting our community. Access and parking to the event is free and open to the public but advance registration is required.
