Former Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell says she's endorsing her former Lt. Governor Mike Fedele for Stamford Mayor.
"I know, and I believe you know, that Mike is that person to have at the helm," said Gov. Jodi Rell.
They spent four years working side by side in the governor's office, and in the legislature before that. That's why Rell says she fully supports his candidacy.
"His demeanor, his honesty, his character is above reproach. It is what all of us should strive to have as part of our being and what we want in our leadership," said Rell.
Thursday, local and state officials gathered at a fundraiser in support of Fedele. The Republican candidate says he's in the race for more than just the title.
Fedele thanked Mayor Michael Pavia for his service to the City. The Mayor and Govenor Rell urged supporters to head to the polls Election Day to vote.
Fedele is running against Board of Finance Democrat David Martin, and unaffiliated candidates Jon Zito and Kathleen Murphy. Election Day is November 5.
