Mayor Michael Pavia hosted a fundraiser Monday night in support of Stamford’s republican mayoral candidate Michael Fedele.
“If I could pick any one individual in the City of Stamford who would fit the bill, who would have the right combination of business experience, political experience, knowledge of how Stamford runs, knowledge of people, it’s Mike Fedele,” says Mayor Pavia.
“Mayor Pavia’s support is very nice, he’s done a great job for the city and I’m honored that he’d be willing to do this for me,” says Fedele.
About 40 people attended the fundraiser, which was held at Columbus Park Restaurant. Fedele and Pavia spoke with guests and shared their visions for Stamford’s future.
“We talked about the economy and economic development,” says Fedele. “I mean Stamford has done a very good job in that area while still maintaining the quality of life that we’re used to in the City of Stamford, and again trying to do that in a way that’s very affordable for all our citizens; so I’m talking about pro growth, moving the city forward.”
If Fedele wins November’s election, Mayor Pavia says he plans to help out in any way he can.
“It’s my city, I love my city, that will never ever change no matter what and I’m prepared to advise and consult with anyone that needs my help or expertise,” says Pavia.
“I take nothing for granted. I always run like I’m losing and I feel real good about it and if it’s in the cards, it’s in the cards; I’m ready to serve and do the best I can for our city,” says Fedele.
Fedele also has the support of former governor Jodi Rell, who will host a fundraiser for Fedele this Thursday.
