"This collaboration is extremely important just to be connected with the community"said Annie Yantorno, Site Director at Family Centers Gateway Preschool in Greenwich.
Piles of wood and plastic would become a new shed for toys as Bimbo Bakeries gave back to Family Centers' Gateway Preschool on Thursday.
Jennifer Flatow, Manager of Volunteer Services at Family Centers said "They are doing their community engagement project and they have selected Family Centers as their location of choice and so they are busy planting flowers and they are building a shed on site here to help store a dozen brand new bikes that they have donated to the children of Gateway Preschool."
Along with new tricycles, the bakery donated boxes of baked goods and planted flowers throughout the preschool.
Family Centers' says it is important for local businesses to help the communities children.
Yantorno added "Having a local organization like Bimbo Bakeries is really important for our preschool because it gives our children a much better preschool experience. It ties in many of the local people and they are giving back to our community."
Flatow added "There are so many people in our community that are in need and there are so many businesses that are local. It's a great way to expose them to the services that Family Centers has and it's a great way for them to give back during their work day."
