The Ferguson Library gave visitors a Taste of India this weekend. The Sunday program invited families to learn about India’s customs through dance performances, readings, and food tastings.
A large portion of the program was dedicated to India’s dance culture. After several demonstrations, performers explained the history behind the dances. The performers taught the audience hand gestures before inviting people on stage to join them. The dancers even talked about their costumes. While performing, each dancer wore over two pounds of bells around each ankle.
Organizers say they will continue to host programs that encourage cultural diversity
